Alan Grant Marcet'Sunshine'Arcata, CaliforniaFormerly of MichiganAlan G. Marcet passed away while trying to protect a friend, on Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Arcata, California, at the age of 27. He was born on January 19, 1986 in Alpena, Michigan. Alan spent his first 10 years in Alpena and then graduated high school in Mt. Morris, Michigan. He was a Rainbow Warrior who loved chasing rainbows with friends. Alan was also an avid musician and enjoyed attending music festivals all over the world. He had a loving spirit and he died as a gentleman. Alan is survived by his mother, Nancy Marcet of Hubbard Lake; his brother, James Marcet of Bay City; his grandparents, Marco & Sophie Marcet of Frankenmuth and Jean Philips of Alabama; and his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Alan was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Marcet; his grandfathers, Clare Butterfield and Chuck Philips; and an uncle, Mark Marcet. On Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the St. Hyacinth Parish Center, 2305 S. Monroe St., Bay City , MI 48708, Alan's family will greet friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by a dinner reception. For those who so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
