Albert P. "Sam" Kimbrue, of Bay City, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Covenant Health Care in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 81 years. The son of the late Albert and Helen (Lee) Kimbrue was born December 11, 1933 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Church, retired from Consumers Power Co. and Bay Medical Center. Sam was proud to be a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, recently celebrating his 40th year. His realization that God was working through him, helped him to help many others find sobriety through the program. Sam now has completely fulfilled the A.A. 3rd step, "Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over the care of God as we understand him". He was an avid outdoorsman from an early age, enjoying hunting, trapping and especially fishing. Sam and Sandy spent many summers fishing salmon on Drummond Island.
On June 2, 1956 Sam married his wife of 59 years, the former Sandra Hamlin in Visitation Catholic Church and she is left behind to cherish his memories along with one son and daughter-in-law; Gregory and Peggy Kimbrue, one brother and sister-in-law; Edward and Kathy Kimbrue, his grandchildren; Hayley and Alexandra Kimbrue and David and Kayla Stanley, many nieces, nephews and also many special friends. Besides his parents Sam was preceded in death by his beloved daughter; Pamela Kimbrue, his sisters; Ruth Anders and Charlotte Atkinson.
The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be celebrated Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish - Holy Trinity Campus. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm with private interment in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church only on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. There will be no visitation at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Fish Tales, an organization that helps disabled children enjoy the outdoors.
