Van Poppelen, Albert James"Jim"Essexville, MichiganMr. Van Poppelen passed away Saturday evening February 13, 2010 at Brian?s House. Age 83 years. He was born April 12, 1926 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. Jim was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, a life member of B.P.O.E. # 88, he was the former former President of Van Poppelen Brothers Inc. and served with the United States Army during WW II. He is survived by his wife Nancy, two granddaughters; Courtney and Candice, one great granddaughter; one step son; Brian (Martha) Stange, three step grandchildren; Dominic, Hailey and Ethan Stange, one sister; Barbara (Hugh) Gurnee, two brothers; Jack (Connie) Van Poppelen and Patrick (Lorraine) Van Poppelen, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Karen Rumsey, Jim (Betty) Beckrow and Gary ( Lisa) Beckrow, many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by one son Albert Thomas Van Poppelen and his parents; Albert James and Mable (Vereyken) Van Poppelen. A Memorial Service will take place Saturday February 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. with private inurnment in St. Patrick?s Cemetery. At the request of Mr. Van Poppelen cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for Brian?s House, McLaren Visiting Nurse and Hospice or Trinity Episcopal Church will be available at the funeral home.
