Alfred E. Neumann, of Bay City, passed away Sunday February 5, 2012 at his residence, age 94. The son of the late Otto & Ernestine (Strobel) Neumann, he was born April 27, 1917 in Pinconning. Alfred was a lifelong farmer and found great joy in working on his family farm. He also retired from Dow Chemical Co. in Midland. Alfred was a member and former Elder of the Bay City North Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. On August 9, 1947 Alfred married the former Naomi Crawford, and she survives him along with their three children, Linda (Michael) Snyder of Kalkaska, Kevin (Yolanda) Neumann of Adrian and JoDee (Amado) Longoria of Bay City; eight grandchildren, Kimberlee (Larry) Leitow, Jesse (Renee) Snyder, Shenandoah (Rachel) Neumann, Andrea Longoria, Kendra (Jimmy) Brunt, Amanda Longoria, Koren (Sam) Tucker and Brandon Longoria; six great-grandchildren, Mekenzie, Maya, Sidney, Reiley, Natalia and Dakota; a sister, Irene Reimann; and many nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Alfred was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice Wiebeck. Private entombment has taken place at Floral Gardens Mausoleum. A memorial service will be held on Friday February 10, 2012 at 7:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnessses, 5435 Kasemeyer Rd., Bay City, Michigan 48706. Officiating will be Elder Nathan Schmeichel. For those who so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Jehovah's Witnesses or to Heartland Hospice.
