Alfred Bernard Piotrowski Bay City, Michigan Mr. Piotrowski passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Bay Shores Nursing Center. Age 94 years. The son of the late Nicholas and Genevieve (Pelletier) Piotrowski was born February 14, 1921 in Bay City, Michigan and has resided here all of his life. He was a former member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish - St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Mr. Piotrowski retired as a crane operator from American Hoist and Derrick Company, proudly served his country in the United States Army and most of all he cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Left behind to cherish his memories are three daughters and one son-in-law; Virginia Hughes, Betty Vincent and Alena and Donald Sabourin, three sons and three daughters-in-law; Michael and Linda Piotrowski, Thomas and Kathy Piotrowski and Paul and Mary Lou Piotrowski, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one brother and sister-in-law; Sam and Shirley Piotrowski and one sister; Patricia Micho, one sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Mary and Jan Campbell and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. On November 8, 1941 he married the former Elois M. Friebe and she preceded him in death on September 15, 2013. He was preceded in death by one son-in-law; Daniel Hughes, one granddaughter; Amy Hughes, three sisters and four brothers-in-law; Genevieve and Robert Wark, Marie and Leslie Reed, Betty and Louis Vallancourt and Elmer Micho, and two brother and two sister-in-law; Isidor and Ilah Piotrowski Jerome and Terry Piotrowski. We wish to thank the staff at Bay Shores Nursing Center for the kind and loving care they provide for our father and our family during the time they cared for him. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday, October 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Parish - St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak with the Rite of Committal following in Calvary Cemetery under the Auspices of the U.S. Army and the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Piotrowski will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial cards for "The Wishes of the Family" will be available at the funeral home for a memorial in memory of Mr. Piotrowski to be established at a later time.
