Alice H. LaBelle, of Bay City, passed away Thursday night January 5, 2012 at Bay Shores Nursing Center, age 96. She was born May 21, 1915 in Big Rapids to Joseph & Lena (Mason) Waldron. She married Peter E. LaBelle on October 17, 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1977. Alice was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church since 1969 and was a member of the League of Catholic Women & Men. She retired from Bay County District Court in 1985 and since then had been active volunteer for Created for Caring. In August of 1999 Alice was presented the Diamond Gem Award from the Bay City Family Y and sponsored by the Bay Area Family Y Heritage Club. This award was presented to people over 75 years of age volunteering their services to help others. She also received an award from the State of Michigan, County of Bay, for her recognition of her hours of volunteer services. Alice loved to travel and made many trips with senior citizens groups. Alice is survived by her special friend and caregiver, John T. Butler and his family; and several nieces, nephews and many other dear friends. The funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Tuesday January 10, 2012 at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Dale A. Orlik. Private interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Bad Axe. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 7:00pm and on Tuesday from 10:00am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church.
