Mrs. Nitschka passed away on Tuesday, August 04, 2020 at The Carriage House. Age 95 years. The daughter of the late Edwin and Laura (Hachtel) Kuch was born August 14, 1924 in Bay City, Michigan. Mrs. Nitschka was a member of St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aide. Alice worked at Fanny Farmer candy store for many years and enjoyed baking cookies, gardening, and crocheting.
Mrs. Nitschka is survived by one daughter, Barbara (James) Cutler; one son, Neil Nitschka; two grandchildren, Catherine (Rob) Skoog and Carl Cutler; one sister, Luella Strohpaul; four special cousins, Walter and Joy Reinhardt, Carl Reinhardt and family, Katie Wachowiak and family, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents Mrs. Nitschka was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Wayne Nitschka who she married in 1944, and four brothers, Earl, Floyd, Robert, and Richard Kuch.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020 at St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Seafert with Committal following in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. We are currently still under the governor's executive order of social distancing and limited to 10 visitors in the chapel at one time. You may experience a wait while paying your respects and face coverings must be worn.  Mrs. Nitschka will be taken to the church to lie in state on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church will be available at the funeral home.
