Alice M. Rice

Alice M. Rice Bay City, Michigan Alice M. Rice, of Bay City, passed away Saturday night, May 31, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region, age 72. The daughter of the late William & Neva (Smith) Rice, she was born May 10, 1942 in Bay City. Alice retired from the Bay Medical Care Facility where she was the head dietary cook. She was also a cook previously at the former Mercy Hospital. Alice collected birds and spoons in her free time, but she most of all enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Alice is survived by her five children, Rob Tacey of Essexville, Rod (Jamie) Tacey of Bay City, Maj. Glen (Mary) Tacey, US Air Force, of California and currently stationed in Adana, Turkey, Greg (Amy) Tacey and Jennifer Tacey both of Bay City; her 18 grandchildren whom she adored; and three sisters, Rose (Sherman) Headings, Sara Snellenberger and Maxine Shorkey all of Bay City. Besides her parents, Alice was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Asia Diana Tacey; and eight brothers & sisters. A Memorial Service will take place Friday, June 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church 3301 Midland Road Bay City, MI 48706. Officiating will be Elder Clarence Pease. It was Alice's desire for cremation to take place. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for the "Wishes of the Family" will be available.
