Alice J. Rotarius

Mrs. Alice J. (Jeske) 'Smiley' Rotarius, of Kawkawlin, Michigan, passed away Tuesday evening February 19, 2013 at Huron Woods Nursing Home. Age 94 years. The daughter of the late John and Tillie (Satkowiak) Jeske Jr. was born July 12, 1918 in Kawkawlin, Michigan and has resided there all of her life. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she enjoyed cooking and having fish fry's with her family. Mrs. Rotarius will always be remembered by her family as a very happy person and she enjoyed life to it's fullest. She is survived by two daughters; and two sons-in-law; Florence and Bob Engel and Barb and Jim Bonasse of Bay City, nine grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, sixteen great great grandchildren, her special niece and her husband Sandy and Jim Waldie of Kawkawlin and many other nieces and nephews. On October 30, 1937 she married Arthur Rotarius and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1992. She was also preceded in death by one daughter; Patricia Binnall, one grandson; Robert Engel, Jr., one great granddaughter; Andrea Binnall, and her brothers and sisters. The Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Huron Woods Nursing Home for the kind and compassionate care they provided for Mrs. Rotarius. The Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated Monday, February 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kawkawlin. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Jerzy Dobosz with the Rite of Committal following in Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial cards for the "Wishes of the Family" will be available at the funeral home.
