Alice A. (Smith) Grew

Alice passed away peacefully early Saturday, morning, January 4, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region with her family by her side at the age of 67 years. The daughter of the late John R. and Viola (Pake) Smith was born January 14, 1946 in Bay City, Michigan. She retired after 15 years of service as a bus driver for Bay Metro Transit. Alice graduated from the former T.L. Handy High School. In her younger years she enjoyed taking her children roller skating and currently enjoyed trips to the casino, watching sports especially football. Alice was a decedent of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe. Left to cherish her memory are one son and daughter-in-law; Douglas and Clarissa Grew, one daughter; Lori Lynn Grew, her grandson; Kyle Grew, one sister and brother-in-law; Judith R. and James Wujek , her niece; Krista Wujek and her friend; Joe Wakefield, her nephew; Brian Wujek and his friend; Erica Greenwood, many nieces and nephews. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Tuesday, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with private burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Monday to greet family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
