Allan J. Blomshield

Blomshield, Allan J. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Blomshield passed away following a brief illness Friday, March 13th at 76 years of age. Allan was born in Pinconning, MI on August 8th, 1938 to the late Vernon and Helen (Hasso) Blomshield and was a lifelong resident of Bay City. Allan graduated from T.L. Handy High School in 1956 where he earned 10 varsity letters in football, baseball and basketball. Following high school he attended Western Michigan University briefly before graduating from Michigan State University (61' BA degree). Following college, he served his country in the U.S. Navy (61-63) on the U.S. Truckee. Allan is a retired Bay City Public School english and history teacher, in which he spent time teaching at his Alma Mater Handy High School, Wenona School and Bay City All Saints. Allan retired from education in 2001 and had a solid 14 years in which he spent time reading, hunting, fishing and relaxing with family and friends. Surviving him; his wife of 42 years, Marjorie Blomshield, his son Mark Blomshield, granddaughter Jenna Blomshield, step children Lynn Armbruster , (grandchildren Brian and Jessica Madison Jr. and Brittany Madison, great grandchild Brian Madison III), John Armbruster and Doug Armbruster, A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson. At the request of Mr. Blomshield cremation has taken place. The family will be present at the funeral home on Saturday to receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
