Militello, Anthony "Tony" Bay City, Michigan Mr. Militello passed away late Sunday September 8, 2013 at his residence with his family at his side. Age 91 years. The son of the late James V. and Rose (Bosco) Militello was born September 6, 1922 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 169. He started his career at Militello Brothers Produce and retired from General Motors Co. Bay City Plant and served with the United States Army. Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and a trip to the casino. On October 1, 1972 he married the former Penny Jean Sheck and she survives his passing along with three children; Annette Militello, Elbert and Debra Bennett and Jeannie and Bert Haney, six grandchildren; Heather, Bert Jr., A.J., Tim, Joe and Cassie and many great grandchildren. Other members of his family include his brothers, sisters-in-law, sisters and brothers-in-law; Neno and Pat Militello, Charles and Marilee Militello, James and Janice Militello, Joan Militello, Grace and Al Chevalier, Pauline and Tom Guerrin, Jeanette Budnik, Ross Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three brothers and one sister-in-law; Santo and Rose Militello, Sam Militello and Phil Militello, four sisters and two brothers-in-law; Mary and Ken Hunter, Cecelia Brown, Rosalie Militello and Rosalie Militello and Ted Budnik. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they extended to Tony and his family during the time they cared for him. The Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated Friday, September 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John S. Sarge with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery under the Auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Militello will be taken to the Church on Friday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of the Mass. Memorial cards will be available for the Wishes of the Family.
