Antoinette 'Toni' E. Batko

Mrs. Antoinette E. 'Toni' Batko, of Bay City, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Bay Special Care Hospital, age 98. The daughter of the late John & Angeline (Ciaciuch) Dominowski, she was born November 20, 1914 in Beaver Twp. Antoinette was a devoted member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church where she was active with the Kiesel-Pearls, the Rosary Altar Society, the Legion of Mary, the Felician Sisters, and the League of Catholic Women & Men. Antoinette was also a member of the U.A.W. 362 Retirees. She had a life-long love of baking and crocheting. On October 25, 1941 Antoinette married John W. Batko in St. Hedwig Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on October, 8, 1972. She is survived by her three children, Robert (Sue) Batko of Houghton Lake, Dennis Batko of Bay City and Jeanne (Dave) Faustman of Mason; two grandsons, Jeffrey Faustman, of Mason and Bret (Megan) Faustman of Lake Orion; a great-grandson, Bryce Faustman; one brother, Harry (Joan) Dominowski of Bay City; a sister, Margaret Leavitt of Bay City; two sisters-in-law, Iris Dominowski of Auburn and Kay Dominowski of Bay City; and several nieces & nephews. Antoinette was also preceded in death by six brothers, Eugene, Stanley (Audrey), Chester (Janice), Ralph, John and Edwin 'Dick' (Edith) Dominowski; three sisters, Monica (John) Adamczyk, Irene (Paul) Husen and Stephanie (Ben) Woods; and a brother-in-law, Russell Leavitt. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at St. Hedwig Catholic Church. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Kevin N. Kerbawy. A private Rite of Committal will be at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the Vigil for the Deceased taking place at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Batko will lie in-state at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
