Arlene passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at McLaren Bay Region with her family by her side at the age of 101. She was born In Bay City, Michigan on September 13, 1922 to the late Arthur and Anna (Engelhart) Kesemeyer. Arlene was a dedicated member of Zion Lutheran Church. She retired from Graphic Metal Company, was an avid bowler and started bowling in 1943 in the Alert 405 League, and she served on many positions in the bowling association and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. Arlene also enjoyed putt putt golfing, playing rummy, bird and squirrel watching and spending time with her family.
Arlene is survived by her sister, Ardith Biskupski; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henderson; siblings Matilda (Warren) Kolb, Dorothy (Erwin) Loessel, Viola (Victor) Skrzypczak and Art Kesemeyer; brother-in-law’s, Eugene Biskupski and sister-in-law, Esther Pembroke.
A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Philip Bearwolf with private interment at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to Zion Lutheran Church General Fund.
