Arnold C. Rechsteiner Jr.

Arnold passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Brittany Manor in Midland, at the age of 89 years. The son of the late Arnold C. and Ella (Lang) Rechsteiner was born December 8, 1928 in Kawkawlin, Michigan. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor. Arnold retired from the Bay County Road Commission. He enjoyed farming, splitting wood and playing cards.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife the former Maxine C. Schnell whom he married October 9, 1948 in Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor; his children, Jane Rechsteiner and Jen Brooks, Sally and Randy Clarke; his daughter-in-law, Jan Rechsteiner; his grandchildren, Steven and Shaundry Rechsteiner; Ryan and Ann Rechsteiner, Kyle Rechsteiner, Jaime and Jessica Brooks, Janice Gargulinski; ten great grandchildren; his brothers, sister, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, John Rechsteiner, Joseph and Kathy Rechsteiner, Louie Rechsteiner, Irene Rechsteiner, James and Karen Rechsteiner, Daniel and Carol Rechsteiner, Rose Rechsteiner, Janece "Babe" Rechsteiner, Roseanne Rechsteiner and Larry Grove. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, David Rechsteiner; his granddaughter, Heather Clarke; his brothers and sisters, Benjamin Rechsteiner, Lilly Morgan, Nelly Scherzer, Frank Rechsteiner, LeRoy Rechsteiner, Harry Rechsteiner and Nancy Grove. The family would like to extend a thank you to the nurses and staff at Brittany Manor.
Funeral and Committal Services will take place on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor. Officiating will be Rev. David Sherry with interment in Fremont Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on  Sunday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Arnold will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider donations to Trinity  Lutheran Church of Monitor Building Fund or Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor Athletic Fund.
