Barbara Sue Bird "Barb"

Barb passed away peacefully at her residence in Bay City, Michigan on Sunday March 24, 2024 at the age of 80. She was born in Manila, Arkansas on January 9, 1944 to the late Roland and Josephine (Martin) Lowery. Although she was born in Arkansas, she grew up in Dudley, Missouri with many of her close family members. Barb enjoyed gardening, sewing, bowling, golfing and spending time with her grandchildren. She had such a kind, compassionate soul, if you knew her you knew love. Everyone loved her and she loved everyone with open arms. Although Barb was nice to everyone, she also had a feisty, stubborn side and would speak her mind. Anyone who knew her, knew she was always late for everything.
Barb is survived by her children, Richard Jr. (Sheri) Bird, Jeff (Karen) Bird and Kendri McLean; grandchildren, Daniel (Jacqueline) Bird, David (Chelsea) Bird, Amanda (Chaz) King, Tyler McLean, Maranda McLean, Julianne (Brandon) McLean, Mason (Syndey) McLean, Logan (Samantha) Bird, Jenna (Cameron) Giron and Chad Bird; great grandchildren, Isabella Bird, Lilah Foster, Remington Cameron, Hudson King, Milo Brooks, Wes Thomas, Via McLean, Jack Giron, Evan Dobbins, Alexis Dobbins, Leon Jean, Renley Bird and Freyja Bird; sisters, Pearl Sifford, Ruthie (Frank) Jones, Annie Lowery and Martha Morlan; brother, Henry (Carolyn) Lowery; brother-in-law’s, John Bristol and Faydel Creecy; sister-in-law, Nancy Lowery; close friend and neighbor, John; very close niece, Georgia (Lloyd) Isbell and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bird Sr.; sisters, Mary Lowery, Betty Bristol and Jesse Creecy; brothers, Charlie Lowery, George (Norma) Lowery and Buck Lowery and brother-in-law, Joe Sifford and Gary Morlan.
A graveside service will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. The family will be present to receive visitors at the Gephart Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
