Barbara E. Esseltine

Mrs. Barbara E. Esseltine, of Bay City, MI, passed away on Sunday evening, October 26, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region, age 81. The daughter of the late Adam and Jane (MacGregor) Heinz, she was born April 15, 1933 in Bay City. On August 15, 1953 Barbara was united in marriage to Jack C. Esseltine and he survives her passing. She was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church where she was active with the Vestry and served as an usher. Barbara was retired from the Social Services Department at Bay Medical Center. She was a loving and giving person, and has always been very supportive of local charities. Barbara enjoyed baking for family and friends. She was very family oriented and loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Esseltine is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jack C. Esseltine; four children, Barbara (Rick) Brady of Essexville, Pamela Esseltine, Robert Esseltine and Michael (Dawn) Esseltine, all of Bay City; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Craig, Jennifer, Adam, Joshua, Andrew, Nicole and Michael; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert (Shirley) Heinz of Bay City; her sister, Carol Berlin of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Barbara was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lindy Esseltine in 1999. It was Mrs. Esseltine's desire for cremation to take place. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Trinity Episcopal Church. Officiating will be The Rev. Ann Grady. Inurnment will be in the Trinity Episcopal Church Columbarium. Barbara's family will greet friends at the church on Saturday, November 15th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Episcopal Church Endowment Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.
