Barbara Kay Savage Bay City, Michigan Our loving mother and grandmother passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon October 14, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 77 years. The daughter of the late Charles "Pete" and Helen Peterson was born May 17, 1939 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, an active supporter of the Bay Area Women's Center, graduated from T.L. Handy High School and retired from Standard Federal Bank in Bay City as the Assistant Manager. Left to cherish her memories are one daughter and son-in-law; Angela and Donald Scherzer of Bay City, one son and daughter-in-law; Stephen and Jennifer Savage of Morganton, NC, two grandchildren; Andrew R. Savage and Shannon M. and Michael Yang, one great grandchild; Scarlett Yang, one sister and brother-in-law; Carole and Edward Savage of Cadillac, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Patricia Savage, Catherine and Hugh Treanor, Mary Ellen and Peter Miceli, Robert Kalinowski and Ann and Donald Sanborn and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her extended family; Megan and Briar Keen, and special friends, Dennis, Toni and Adam Kloha, Ashley Miller, Jeff, Maria, Jared and Natalie Doan, Julie Ann Rosenbrock and Donna Schonfeld, "The Friday Night Group"; Fred and Marilyn Hamilton, Jim Baldwin and Thelma Luczak and her feline friends; Sammie and Maggie. On April 29, 1961 she married James Savage in Holy Trinity Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on November 7, 2013. Besides her parents Pete and Helen she was preceded in death by one brother-in-law Frederick Savage and two sisters-in-law; Bernadette Kalinowski, Marjorie Mysliwski The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Parish 501 N. Walnut St. Bay City, MI 48706. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak. A private Rite of Committal for the family will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Monday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Monday at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Savage will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of the Mass.
