Beatrice J. Evans

Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully, Sunday February 5, 2017 at her residence, with her family by her side. Age 96 years. The daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle (Crooks) Stokes was born June 17, 1920 in Bay City, MI. Beatrice was a member of Kawkawlin Community Church. She enjoyed doing cross-stitch, sewing, putting puzzles together and was an excellent cook and baker. Left behind to cherish her memories are her children and their spouses, Lois and Paul Keoshian, Dale Bragiel, Robert and Betty Evans and Gus Pletz; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee H. Evans; her daughter, Kay Pletz; her grandson, Scott Bragiel; her son-in-law, Lawrence Bragiel, her brother, Lyle Stokes. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Kawkawlin Community Church. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Campbell with private interment in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. to receive family and friends. Beatrice will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
