Betty Jean (DeFrain) Lang

Betty Jean Lang Bay City, Michigan Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Country Square AFC Home in Auburn, Michigan. Age 91 years. The daughter of the late Lee and Edna (Smith) DeFrain was born July 19, 1925 in Bay County, Michigan and has resided here all of her life. She was a longtime member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening and crafts. Left behind to cherish her memories are one daughter and son-in-law; Linda and John Cunningham of Kawkawlin, two grandchildren; Kyle and Lisa Cunningham of Grandville and Kristina and Chris Caruso of Los Angeles, CA, special family member; Betsy Brandt of Los Angeles, CA, six great grandchildren; Leah, John, Aiden, Penelope, Andrew and Ryan, one brother and sister-in-law; Gerald and Maxine DeFrain of Pinconning, two sisters and one brother-in-law; JoAnne Elliott of Carson City and Ida Mae and Don Woods of Essexville and many nieces and nephews. On April 14, 1945 she married her husband Jacob E. Lang and he preceded her in death on January 5, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents Lee and Edna, one son; Jacob A. Lang, brother and sister-in-law; Robert and Betty DeFrain, sister and brother-in-law Edna and Vernon Sperry, brother-in-law; Al Elliott, brothers and sisters-in-law; Howard and Monica DeFrain, William and Elaine DeFrain, and Arthur DeFrain. At the request of Mrs. Lang a private Funeral and Committal Service was held at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating was Rev. Paul E. Schweppe with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions for St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church will be available at the funeral home
