Betty M. Friebe

Betty passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at New Hope Valley Assisted Living at the age of 97 years. She was born in Kawkawlin, Michigan on September 12, 1923 to the late Godfrey and Ida Behmlander. She graduated from Bay City Central High school in 1941. She married Walter F. Friebe on June 22, 1946 at St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church. Betty was a faithful and lifelong member of St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church. Betty loved crafting and making cards.
Betty is survived by her two daughters, Diane Cereske and Marilyn Willis; four grandchildren, Wayne Willis, Dr. Nick (Dr. Holly Beth) Willis, Amanda (Marty) Williams and Julie Ann (Mark) Weaver; four great grandchildren, Harrison Willis, Sarah-Katherine Willis, John Willis, and Sydney Weaver and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Friebe who passed away May 12, 2020 and her two sisters Martha Heritier and Elsie Schwab.
Private family services have taken place. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to make memorial contributions to St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church or Michigan Lutheran Seminary Foundation.
