Betty J. Geneseo

Betty J Geneseo of Bay City MI passed away peacefully on Aug 14, 2018.
Betty Jean was born July 27, 1932, the daughter of the late David and Elizabeth (Rapphun) Scharich. She married the Love of her life Vernon Dean Geneseo on May 19, 1951 and they shared a beautiful Union for 41 years before he passed away in 1992. Betty was a loving Mother to Kathy Gould, Gregory (Eva) Geneseo and the late Guy Geneseo.

She touched many people's lives over the years, whether it was friend from church, a client at her beauty salon, or a co-worker from Real Estate or Younkers. Many of us know she was not one to sit still for very long, and always putting herself out there to help when needed. In her spare time she enjoyed her family, going to Zion Lutheran Church where she was a member, traveling, bingo and occasional trips to the casino. Her smile was infectious and one that will truly be missed as well as her words of wisdom.

Surviving are her daughter, Kathy Gould (Tom Staszak), son Gregory (Eva) Geneseo, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandsons. Sisters, Shirley Walter and Lucille (Ted) Hair and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Geneseo, son Guy Geneseo, parents David and Elizabeth Scharich, Siblings, David Jr., Elizabeth, Christian, Casper, Carl, Arlene, Harold and Herman.

In keeping Betty's wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Dwight W. Kingsbury. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
