Betty passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital with her children by her side at the age of 84. She was born in Bay City, Michigan to the late Walter and Emma (Schoening) Wiesenauer on April, 27, 1937 and was a lifelong member of the area. Being the second youngest of 13 children, Betty had a great love for family. Never one to complain, she always put others first and was a dedicated caregiver to her husband, Junior in recent years. While always staying in touch with family and friends, she also greatly enjoyed staying active with her grandchildren and their many activities and events. Her faith in the Lord remained strong throughout her entire life as a member of Trinity Monitor Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed in faith, and once married, St John Lutheran Church of Amelith.
Betty is survived by her husband of over 59 years, Junior Lutz whom she married on May 5, 1962; daughter, Cindy (Jim) Brownlee; son, Glenn (Ann) Lutz; grandchildren, James "LJ" (Taylor) Brownlee, Trista (TJ) Hilgendorf, Claire Brownlee, Wayne Schwind and Rachel (David) Lawler; sister, Edna Kennedy, sister in laws, Agnes Wiesenauer, Mary Jo Lutz, Lou Ann (Rich) Feinauer, Mary (Allen) Revord, brother in laws Art Pfund, Del Lutz, and Benny Lutz, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and many siblings, Betty is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Cheryl Lynn Lutz.
Funeral and Committal Services will take place Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church of Amelith (1664 Amelith Road, Bay City, Michigan 48706). Officiating will be Pastor Kurt Eichinger with interment to follow at St. John Lutheran Church of Amelith Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. (201 West Midland Street, Bay City, Michigan 48706. on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to receive visitors. Betty will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church of Amelith or the New Hope Valley Assisted Living Facility, Saginaw MI.
