Betty Ann Parent

Betty Ann Parent, of Bay City, Michigan passed away suddenly early Friday morning May 4, 2012 at her residence. Age 78 years. She was born July 22, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan and has resided in Bay City all of her life. Mrs. Parent was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, American Legion Ladies Axillary Post 18 and was affiliated with P.L.A.V. Post 162. She retired from Monitor Sugar Company as a Chemist. She is survived by three children and their spouses; Charles and Karen Parent of Bay City, Marilyn and Brian Welborn of Amarillo, TX and Patrick and Dorene Parent of Bay City, her significant other; Bob Stukel of Bay City, seven grandchildren; Tiffany and Tony Bullock, Travis Wiechec, Kayla Parent, Steve Parent, Derrick Parent and his fiancée Alana Sobczak, Bo Brian Welborn and Zane Welborn, two great grandchildren; Cammarie and Christian Parent, one sister; Lila (Beiser) Brownlee of Bay City, one brother and three sister-in-law; Dennis and Jane Arnold of Bay City, Loretta Lohrke and Bernidene Hornsby both of Essexville and many nieces and nephews. On September 29, 1956 she married Robert C. "Buck" Parent and he preceded her in death on September 16, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents; William and Veronica (Kloha) Arnold and two sisters; Floraine DePrekel and Luella Bissonette. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Monday, May 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.. Officiating will be Rev. George W. Morris with private inurnment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Sunday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Members of the American Legion Post 18 Ladies Axillary will meet at the funeral home Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. for a Memorial Service. Memorial cards for American Legion Post 18 will be available.
