Safranek, Betty Lou Bridgeport, Michigan Mrs. Safranek passed away Monday February 4, 2013 at Tender Care Health Center of Frankenmuth with her family at her side. Age 87 years. She was born November 8, 1925 in Saginaw, Michigan. Betty was an active member of Bridgeport Community Church and it's Ladies Guild and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign War Ladies Auxiliary Post 9931 in Bridgeport. She enjoyed cooking, flowers, working in her garden and needle work. Betty was formerly employed at Buena Vista High School as the head cook. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; George A. and Mary Ann Safranek of Frankenmuth, three grandchildren; Cheryl and Jonathan Scharrer of Walled Lake, Dawn Dockins of Bridgeport and Noah and Diana Whittaker of Omaha, Nebraska, three great grandchildren; Casey and Sawyer Scharrer and Emerson Whittaker, two sisters and one brother-in-law; Dona Reid of Bay City and Sharon and Raymond Pinet of Cadillac, MI and her nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband George Safranek on November 28, 1996, one sister and two brothers-in-law; Shirley and George Lennox and James Reid. A Private Funeral Service will take place at Bridgeport Community Church. Officiating will be Pastor Ron Sinclair with Entombment following in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Saginaw.
