Mrs. Rapelje passed away Sunday morning, April 10, 2022 at Bayfield Assisted Living, at the age of 90. The daughter of the late George and Alice (Chadwick) Walders was born July 17, 1931 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Prescott, Michigan and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bay City.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Kenneth (Pamela) Rapelje, Alan (Peggy) Rapelje, Christine (Peter) Whyte and Daniel (Nancy) Rapelje; eight grandchildren, Megan (Dirk) Esterline, Matthew Rapelje, Jacob Whyte, Adam (Kayla Baxter) Whyte, Samuel (Kristen Krawczak) Whyte, Cara Rapelje, Alyssa Rapelje and Erica Rapelje; ten great grandchildren, one sister, Carol Esser. In addition to her parent's, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Rapelje whom she married August 9, 1951 and he passed away April 13, 2016; her brothers, Frank Walders and George Walders; her sisters, Fern Ringle, Marie Marker, Georgette Prichard, Hattie Demerath and Shirley Jozwiak.
At the request of Mrs. Rapelje cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel Jansen. Private inurnment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Saturday to receive family and friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
