Calvin passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at Bay Shores Nursing Home at the age of 97 years. The son of the late Arthur and Violet (Johnroe) Willett was born on July 30, 1920 in Au Gres, Michigan. Calvin served in the Army during World War II. He retired from Wellman Foundry. After he retired he worked many years at the YWCA in maintenance. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, country music and was a Detroit Tigers fan. He married the love of his life Jean (Woizeschke) on March 2, 1946, and enjoyed 67 years of married life together. Jean preceded him in death August 31, 2013. Left behind to cherish their memories are two daughters, Carolyn (Carl) Kraska and Susan Willett Huggard; seven grandchildren, Ronald Kraska, Kathryn (Robert) Pope, David (Jodi) Kraska, Donald (Crystal) Little) Huggard, Sandra (Thomas) Jamrog and Mickey Willett; several great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces, one sister, Marlene (Joseph) Janiski; three sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law, Margaret Holmes, Helen Bouchard, Dorothy and William Cronk. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Calvin Roy Willett Jr.; one grandson, Loni Willlett Sr.; granddaughter; Misty LaBean; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Beulah Willett, Floyd and Dorothy Willett, Melvin and Mamie Willett and John Willett; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Alvery and John Arquette, Lillian and Art Mann, Mary and Archie Cunningham, Barbara and Art Kolka; his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol and William Ryan, Andy Holmes and Joseph Bouchard. The Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Bay Shores Nursing Home for their loving and compassion and care. A celebration service will take place Friday August 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with interment following in Heavenly Rest Cemetery followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. The Family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
