Born to Ray Pershing & Freda Mae (Rice) Hompstead at the Rice farmhouse in Lincoln, MI.

*15yrs of age - "Saved by the blood of the Crucified One" @ Camp Barakel in Fairview, MI.

Moving to Bay City at an early age, Carl grew to love fixing things and Knot-Tying ... he applied these skills throughout his life.  Carl graduated from Handy High 1962.
While attending Ft. Wayne Bible College with best friend Keith Clough, Carl met Coni L. Breon from Peoria, IL ...  Married July 26, 1969.
Carl worked at Saginaw Steering Gear; then the couple joined Teen Ministry Youth For Christ, serving over 7 years.
1978-Carl developed his own business:   CATS ... Cross Antenna & Tower Service ... becoming a SteepleJack.  Delta College TV Department and extended training in strobe lighting laid the foundation for servicing major TV & Radio stations throughout MI.  All 4 sons learned to assist ... "Got it?"  Satellite Dish Installations took Carl across America; and two trips to Roatan, Honduras for tower maintenance were special highlights.  The dear friendships acquired during these busy years touched Carl's & Coni's lives richly.
Faithful attendance to Evangelical Free Church of Bay City for 56 years, Carl served as Elder & Teacher, enveloping numerous loved Church Family who influenced his life ... "So Thankful."
The most precious blessing to Carl & Coni is Family ... names are important.
SIX CHILDREN:  Cam Ray (Shannon);  Corsu Lea (Stephen);  Twins: Cean Rede (Abbie)
& Chepard Reve (Kari);  Courtney Regan (Shawntaye) and  Chela LeAnne (Bryant).
TWENTY GRANDCHILDREN:  Cami (Mike), Cyler, Trey & Taylor;  Twins: Kaitlyn & Kassidy;  Kiley, Dane, Ella Grace & Breon;  Arianna, Chepard, Larissa & Elyse;  Seth, Tayedom & Caspian;  Tru, Destin & AyraLana ...  And 1st Great-Grandchild:  Averi.   "SO BLESSED!"
Carl has acquired his goal in running the race to pursue righteousness.  The greatest honor to him would be for all whose lives were touched by, Carl to join the race.  "Just Do The Right Thing."

A private funeral service for the family of Carl Ray Hompstead will be held at 2:30 PM at Evangelical Free Church on December 12, 2020.
