Carl J. Werner

Werner, Carl J., RPH of Bay City, Michigan passed away Saturday evening November 19, 2011 at Brian's House with his loving wife at his side. Age 93 years. He was born on July 14, 1918 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. Mr. Werner was a longtime member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, the M.S.P.A., the American Pharmacy Association, a graduate of Ferris College with a BS in Pharmacy and owned and operated Werner Pharmacy for fifty years. Mr. Werner is survived by his wife the former Katherine "Kate" (Flynn) Werner whom he married in 1945. He is also survived by one sister; Marjorie Karoly of Bay City, 2 nephews and their spouses; Peter and Debra Karoly of Bay City and their children; Kevin and Kathryn and Joseph and Nancy Karoly of New York, one niece; Marianne and Bert Lareva, seven nephews; Robert and Marilyn Dufresne, Thomas and Mary Allenspach, David Allenspach, James and Dena Allenspach, Peter and Debra Allenspach, Michael and Catherine Flynn and Dennis and Linda Flynn two sisters-in-law; Lois Allenspach of Chandler, AZ and Marge Flynn of Traverse City and several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph E. and Nettie (Smith) Werner, one sister; Edith Werner and two brothers-in-law; Louis Karoly and Joseph Flynn and one sister-in-law; Mary Jane Dufresne A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schweppe with private inurnment in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will be at the church on Saturday to receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. to the time of services. At the request of Mr. Werner cremation has taken place and there will no visiting hours at the Gephart Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
