Marter, Carol Ann Bay City, Michigan Carol went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region, at the age of 74 years. She was born December 14, 1937 in Warren Twp., MI. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, an honorary lifetime member of the Presbytery Women's Association. She retired as a legal secretary from Braun-Kendrick-Finkbeiner law firm and most recently from Lambert and Lesser law firm. Carol was a volunteer in the marketing department at McLaren Bay Region, a current sponsor of five children through Child Fund International and a host for families for Covenant Players Ministry and a member of Guide Post Knit for Kids program. She had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren who were the "light of her world", loved traveling, lighthouses, photography, gardening, knitting and crocheting. She is survived by her children and their spouses; James and Clarissa Marter of Bay City, MI, Julie Kukla of Auburn, MI and Raymond and Terri Marter of Toledo, Ohio, her grandchildren; Eric (Nicole) Marter, Jennifer (her special friend; Aaron Abraham) Marter, Nicholas Marter, Avery Kukla, Zachary Kukla and Nolan Kukla, Rachel Marter and Keenan Marter, her mother; Audrey Majeska of Bad Axe, MI, one sister and brother-in-law; Patsy and Melvin Gay of Rochester, MI and one brother; Alan Majeska of Bad Axe, MI, her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins, her special friends; Carol Taylor and Kathy Dolsen and many other close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; Donald Walter Marter, her father; Walter Majeska and her son; Thomas Marter. Funeral services will take place Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew Schramm with the graveside committal following at Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Carol will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
