Carol Ann Martin

Carol Ann (Knapp) Martin passed away peacefully on October 25, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born in Bay City, Michigan, on August 8, 1944, to the late Walter Knapp and Ann(VanTol) Knapp Brick and remained a life-long area resident.

Carol had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing cards, and as many will never forget, she gave the best hugs. Carol's warm, loving, generous spirit was steadfast, and her unconditional love enriched many lives. She retired from working as an instructional assistant for the Bay City Public Schools after almost 22 years of service.

Carol's pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. Carol was the loving mother of Chris (Wendy) Martin of Marysville, Jeff (Michele) Martin of Bay City, Melanie (Carl) Hamilton of Greensboro, NC and Daniel (Wynne) Martin of West Olive.  Carol adored her grandchildren: Jessica (Richard) Sylvia, Jay (Megan) & Julie Martin, Emmalee & Allyson Martin, Rachel & Helen Hamilton, and Aidan & Sophie Martin. Carol was a treasured sister of Paulette Rabidoux, Marilyn Knapp and Walter "Sonny" Knapp.  Carol will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carol was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, having attended the North Congregation where she was well loved.

One of Carol's favorite bible verses:
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and know all the mysteries and have all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I give up my body that I may be burned but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not envy. It does not brag. It is not arrogant. If does not behave indecently. If is not selfish. It is not irritable. It does not keep a record of wrongs. It does not rejoice over unrighteousness but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never comes to an end.

The family sends a special thank you to the Niche Aging Center of Bay City for their care and compassion during Carol's final days when she could no longer live independently at the Midland Manor, Bay City.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital as a tribute to Carol's brave fight against cancer and her love for all children.
