Carole passed away on Monday morning, December 31, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region Hospital Bay City at the age of 82 years. Carole was born on September 03, 1936 in Detroit MI, preceded in death by her parents Oscar W. and Anne T. (Toland) Werner; her sister Nancy K. Van Sumeren and Robert Ward Wilhelm.  Carole was retired from Bangor Township Schools as the librarian at Bangor Junior High.  After retirement Carole was employed at the Bay City Antique Center. Carole was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church where she worked Food of Faith, bake sales and other volunteer capacities.  Carole enjoyed gardening, loved taking trips up north with her family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carole is survived by her children: Scott (Cheryl) Wilhelm of Midland, MI; Michael (Jami) Wilhelm of Bay City, MI; Virginia Kuenker of Brunswick Georgia; Patrick (Diane) Wilhelm of Smithville, MO.
Carole will be lovingly remembered by her 16 grandchildren: Sean Wilhelm, Jennifer Wilhelm, Matthew (Janelle) Wilhelm, Jason Wilhelm, Amy Anderson, Daniel (Jojo) Anderson, Rebecca Anderson (Aaron Harris), Jacob Brettrager. Michelle Wilhelm (fiancé Beau Brennan), Kristi Kolka (Patrick Strope) and Heather (Timothy) Ramos. Megan (Justin) Kuenker-Foco, Andrew (Vanessa) Kuenker;  Samuel (Jessica) Kuenker. Kelsea and Morguen Wilhelm.
Carole was also blessed with 12 great grandchildren: Dustin Wright, Maya Harris, Zachary Malahak, Gavin Gerard, Briella Ramos, Aiden Strope, Leilani and Braylon Kuenker-Foco, Lukas, Evan and Jack Kuenker. And the pending birth of Weston Kuenker.
Carole also leaves a beloved lifelong friend Sandy Kimbrue.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Gephart Funeral Home Officiating will be The Rev. Nancy Mayhew. At the request of Carole cremation will take place following the service. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
