Caroline M. Kowalsky

Mrs. Kowalsky passed away Thursday January 15, 2015 at the Carriage House Nursing Home. Age 85 years. The daughter of the late Albert and Ellen (Mondeau) Rase was born May 17, 1929 in Bay City. She was a member of Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church. Mrs. Kowalsky worked for many years as a seamstress. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, camping, traveling, line dancing, swimming and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband; Gordon W. Kowalsky whom she married August 28, 1948, two sons and two daughters-in-law; Mark and Marsha Kowalsky, Alan and Velda Kowalsky, her grandchildren; Meredith (Blake) Sievers, Melissa (Dave) Coberley, Matthew Kowalsky and Oksana Kowalsky, her great grandchildren; Isabelle and Samantha Sievers and Kaitlin Coberley, one sister; Roberta Goulet, one uncle; Leonard (Margaret) Mondeau, one aunt; Viola (Jim) Thomas, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers-in-law; Betty and Virgil Kraatz and Norman Goulet Jr. Funeral Services will take place Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Steven Korth with interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Kowalsky will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
