Carolyn K. Kay

Kay, Carolyn K. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Kay passed away Saturday evening July 3, 2010 surrounded by her family at her residence. Age 65 years. She was born February 8, 1945 in West Branch, Michigan to Irene Caroline and the late Murray Howard Schmidt. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Carolyn enjoyed making crafts with Anna, spending time with her family and most of all being with her five special grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of forty two years Gordon C. Kay whom she married on October 7, 1967 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch. She is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Robert and Laura Kay and their children; Madison and Samantha Kay of Bay City, two daughters and two sons-in-law; Kari and Brandon Day and their children; Aiden, Evan and Lauren Day of Clarkston and Lori and Gabe Cherry of Ferndale, her mother; Irene Caroline Schmidt of West Branch, two sisters and two brothers-in-law; Patricia and Gary Gradowski of Burton and Jan and Pete Smith of Lapeer, one brother; Lon Schmidt of West Branch, many nieces and nephews and her two special friends; Anna and Maxine. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (2956 E. N. Union Rd.). Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Meissner with the Rite of Committal following in Fremont Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.. The Vigil for the deceased will take place Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Kay will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of services.
