Catherine (Roupe) Stowell

Catherine (Roupe) Stowell of Essexville, Michigan passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Carriage House of Bay City. Age 93 years. The daughter of the late William and Elsie (Emry) Rayl was born December 3, 1920 in Auburn, Michigan. She was a devoted member of South Baptist Church, an avid Detroit Tiger Fan, enjoyed bingo, crossword puzzles and had a great love for her cat Muffin. Left behind to cherish her memories are two daughters and one son-in-law; Joyce Gates of Corunna, MI, Connie and Blake Hubener of Essexville, three sons and two daughters-in-law; Dennis and Linda Roupe of Rhodes, Gary Roupe of Bay City, Gerald Roupe of Bay City, and Ernestine Hacker of Colorado Springs, CO, one step daughter; Pamela Baker of Livonia, 23 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, one sister; Marguerite Kipfmiller of Bay City and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded by her husbands; Bernard Roupe and Frank Stowell, two sons; Allen and Lawrence Roupe, one son-in-law; William Gates, one stepson-in-law; Frank Baker, two grandsons; Jeffery Gates and Scott Roupe, three brothers and one sister. Funeral Services will take place Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at South Baptist Church 800 Cass Ave. Bay City, MI 48708. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Kirkpatrick with graveside services following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. (There will be no visitation on Friday) Mrs. Stowell will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services.
