Catherine Schwartz

Catherine passed away early Wednesday morning November 22, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 80 years. She was born in Bay City to the late Fred and Edna (Brooks) Briggs. She married Ronald Schwartz on February 11, 1958 in Elkton, Maryland. Catherine was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church where she was involved in the Condolence Committee and the Ladies Aide. She was also involved in the Bay County Mothers of Twins Group. Most of all she loved her family and being with her grandchildren.

Surviving are husband, Ronald; children, Larry (Becky) Schwartz, Lorie (Clark) Rux and Joe (Samantha) Schwartz; grandchildren, Christopher Schwartz, Justin (Amanda) Schwartz, Amanda (David) Frazier, Brandon Schwartz, Alyssa Schwartz and fiancée (Ty Kendzierski), Jesse Schwartz and fiancé (Angelica Bussmann), Lindsey and Sara Schwartz and Hannah Rux; great grandchildren, Amyah Frazier, Bennett and Carter Schwartz; brother, Franklin (Judy) Briggs. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, and daughter-in-law Tim (Christie) Schwartz.

Funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe with private interment in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Catherine will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
