Mrs. DeWyse passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Bay Medical Care Facility, Essexville. Age 76 years. Cecelia was born in Bay City, Michigan on December 31, 1940 to the late Edmond and Flossie (Julian) LaFave. Cecelia was member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church where she was involved with the Little Flower Altar Society and The League of Catholic Women and Men. After the closing of the church, she then attended Our Lady of Peace-St Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping, quilting and making wedding cakes. Cecelia worked and retired after many years as a seamstress from Unique Bridal. Surviving are her two sons, Dan (Marie) and Robert DeWyse; four grandchildren, Tara Greathouse, Mariah (Lawrence) Choyce, Emma and Nicholas DeWyse; five great grandchildren; many loving sisters and brothers-in-law and special nieces and nephews. Cecelia was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years Eugene; daughter Carol Greathouse; grandson Joey and five brothers and sisters. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church. The celebrant will be Rev Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak with Rite of Committal in Calvary Cemetery, Kawkawlin. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The vigil for the Deceased will take place Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Cecelia will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to The Juvenile Diabetes Association. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Bay Medical Care Facility for the great care they gave to Cecelia.
