Cecelia M. Shudark

Shudark, Cecelia M. (Daskey) Freeland, Michigan Mrs. Cecelia M. Shudark, of Freeland, MI, passed away Wednesday November 26, 2014 at Close To Home Assisted Living in Bay City at the age of 98 years. She was born November 12, 1916 in Williams Twp., MI to the late Walter and Mary (Kotewa) Kalinowski. On September 25, 1937 Cecelia married Clements "Fisher" Daskey and he preceded her in death on October 11, 1969. She then married Walter Shudark on June 5, 1974 and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1989. Cecelia was a devoted, longtime, and also the eldest, member of St. Gabriel Parish, West Campus Fisherville where she enjoyed cooking for church and funeral luncheons. She and her first husband, Fisher Daskey, were the co-owners of the former Orchard Inn of Fisherville. Cecelia enjoyed children, was proud of her farming heritage and had such a love of animals that she often took in stray dogs. Mrs. Shudark is survived by a brother, Al Kalinowski of Bay City; her nieces and nephews, Mary Ellen Swiecicki, Karen (Terry) Satkowiak, Jeff (Tina) Kalinowski, William (Jackie) Gunther, Linda (Rob) Duchane, Alan (Maggie) Kalinowski, Lisa (Scott) Bis and Dennis (Pam) Kalinowski; many great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; her two step-children, Don (Betty) Shudark and Larry (Ruth Ann) Shudark; and step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Cecelia was also preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Kalinowski; two sisters, Lottie "Jo" (William) Gunther and Frances Kalinowski; a sister-in-law, Mary Kalinowski; and a nephew-in-law, Richard Swiecicki. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Parish, West Campus Fisherville, 84 W. Midland Rd., Auburn MI, 48611. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Thomas E. Sutton with the Rite of Committal following in St. Anthony Cemetery. Cecelia will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of service.
