Mrs. Cecelia W. Simmons, of Bay City, Michigan, passed away Friday November 2, 2012 at Bay Medical Care Facility. Age 93 years. She was born November 8, 1918 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. She was a member of Visitation Catholic Church, the Little Flower Altar Society and the Women of the Moose Chapter #367. Cecelia retired from The Autolite Co. after thirty one years of service, she enjoyed puzzles, playing solitary and a good game of cards. Cecelia is survived by one sister-in-law; Romaine Marlow, her special nieces and nephews; Sue (Bill) Shaheen, Peggy (Jim) Kwapiszewski, Randy Lunch, Janice (Robert) Gorney, Jacqueline (Dave) Petrat, Elaine (Richard) Kretz, Diane (Larry) Schoof, Ronald (Audrey) Morand, Larry (Heather) Morand, Robert (Irene) Simmons, Carol Walters and many other nieces and nephews. On February 8, 1941 she married Charles Frederick Simmons and he preceded her in death along with her parents; Anthony and Delia (LaPointe) Marlow, her father-in-law and mother-in-law; Frank and Charlotte (Reinhardt) Simmons, three brothers; Kenneth Marlow, Elmer ( Ruth ) Marlow and Norbert (Lois) Marlow and three sisters; Genevieve (Frank) Snable, Bernice (Aaron) Lynch and Irene (John) Morand. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Bay Medical Care Facility, especially Dana for the kind and compassionate care they gave to Cecelia during the time she stayed with them. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be Celebrated Monday, November 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. George J. Serour with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Simmons will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Memorial cards for Visitation Catholic Church will be available at the funeral home.
