Chad Edward Yost, Age 32, passed away Sunday May 7th, 2023 after a year and a half long battle with cancer, which only stopped him from playing with his children and caring for his pristine lawn in his final weeks. Per his wishes he passed surrounded by family in his home in Midland.
Chad Yost is survived by the love of his life and wife Erica (Prieur) Yost, daughter Natalie Ann Yost, son Jack Edward Yost, step son Ayden Richard Dominowski. His parents Edward Gerald Yost and Cheryl Ann (Marr) Miller, brother Todd Edward Yost, and sister Farrah Madsen Hopper. Chad is also survived by countless friends, neighbors, teammates, and parents who rallied beside him and his family throughout his life. Your support has been beyond invaluable.
Chad was born at Saginaw General hospital on November 10th 1990, firmly ending his brother’s 9 year reign as only child. While images of the two fighting on the living room floor might illustrate differently, they were the best of friends, sharing time playing games, golfing, and being a safe venting space for any challenges they faced.
Eleven years ago, Chad made the invaluable choice to join Erica in life. Erica was able to see through his façade and bring out a man who loved life and family. They Met in Bay City and lived there for 6 years before moving to Midland to lay down family roots in 2018. They made countless memories and future plans that Erica will fulfil on his behalf.
The friends in Chad’s life made a large impact and provided invaluable support to him during his fight. Chad enjoyed Tuesday golf with his buddies at Maple Leaf Golf Course in Linwood. Chad also enjoyed playing in any and all golf scrambles with his friends Anthony Facundo, Alex Facundo, and Mark Neitzel. He was also lucky to have a close relationship with his cousin, Derek Noel who was one of his best friends. They got into all kinds of fun and trouble as kids.
A special thanks to his Oncologist John Krauss from the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center who put in expert level work to help Chad live his best life. We can never thank you enough for the extra time you gave us to experience and enjoy unforgettable moments with Chad to last us our lifetimes.
