Ball, Charles A. Jr. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Ball passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at his residence with his family at his side. Age 83 years. He was born May 21, 1929 in Flint, Michigan. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus # 414 and the D.A.V. Mr. Ball served with the United States Army 2nd Armored Division during the Korean Conflict and retired from GM Powertrain as a supervisor and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his wife the former Frances K. Cieslinski whom he married on June 9, 1951 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Fisherville by the Rev. Fr. Chester Lipinski and she survives his passing along with four children; Renee M. Powers, Colleen L. (Jeffrey) VanRiper, Keith C. Ball and Roderick A. Ball all of Bay City, six grandchildren; Christina, Rebecca, Kara, Steven, Kristopher and Erika and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister; Erma Cichy. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Meisner with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Ball will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for St. Vincent de Paul Society will be available at the funeral home.
