Charles passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 in the loving arms of his wife at his residence with his family by his side at the age of 77 years. He was born August 13, 1942 in Bay City to the late Clifford and Elaine (Causley) Beaver. On October 23, 1965, he married the girl he went to grade school with, the former Sally J. Meylan and they spent 54 years together. Charles worked for General Motors as a millwright and welder for twenty-five years and a retiree member of UAW Local 668. He was also a volunteer firefighter for Monitor Township for sixteen years and treasurer of the Bay County Firefighters Association. Charles had a very creative mind and held two patents. He also worked on the Meylan Family Farm in the fall hauling sugar beets. Charles graduated from T.L. Handy High School where he played football, track, wrestling and shot put. He served as stock car racer Ken Meylan's chief mechanic and also won several races himself while drag racing at Edmore and Ubly. He spent four years Golden Glove Boxing where he was 3rd in state in 1964 and regional champion in 1964 and 1966. Charles had many championships between 1966-1974 in the Bay City Football  League -Silver Palace. He was President and coach for twenty-five years for the Bay County Youth Wrestling Club (Roadrunners) and also launched the Northeast Michigan Wrestling Association in 1986 along with Dave Allen. He was a charter member of the Mid-Michigan Wrestling Association and served fifteen years as a board member and on the rules committee. Charles was also assistant coach under Al Doty from 1993-1995 for Bay City Western High School Football. He coached Auburn-Midland Youth Football from 1982-1991 and led them to seven undefeated league championships in a row. Charles touched the lives of others in many ways and had a generous heart. He served as a missionary in the Dominican Republic through the Evangelical Free Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, coaching, spending time with his family and telling his infamous Big Foot stories.
Charles is survived by his wife, Sally; children, Chuck Jr., Brian (Kristin), Matthew (Lori Lynn), Crystal (Joe) Janicke and Tyson (Becky); grandchildren, Andrew, Brendan, Jakob, Ivory, Joey Rambo and Myles; great grandson, Owen; sisters, Patricia (Jose) Cocco-Valdes and Judy (Bob) Milka; sister-in-law, Gloria Beaver and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert "Sam" Beaver.
