Mr. Christie passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Bay Shores Nursing Care Center, age 78 years. The son of the late Virgil and Virginia (Sment) Christie was born January 29, 1942 in Bay City, Michigan. Mr. Christie retired from Consumers Power after 25 years of service and he served in the U.S. Airforce during Vietnam and retired after 20 years. Charles was an avid fisherman and bowler at Bay Lanes, where he bowled a 300 game and had an 800 series.
Mr. Christie is survived by his wife, Nancy Christie whom he married on July 12, 1969 and they were married for 50 years; two sons, James (Kelly Myers) Christie and David (Amanda) Christie; grandchildren, Whitney (PJ Albertson) Christie, Alexis Christie, Emily (Jayden Yankee) Christie, Dannika Christie, Davylynn Christie, Michael (Shyanne) Schalk and Tyler Chartier; great grandson, Phoenix Yankee; one sister, Janet (Bill) O'Neil; one brother, Richard (Peggy) Christie; special family members, Linda Burgess-Christie and Leonard Sexton; special friends, Mildred Davis, D Steff and Mike Griffor and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private Funeral and Committal services will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Kelm with private interment following at St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Sunday, June 21, 2020 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
