Mr. Davis passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family. Age 72 years. The son of the late Rev. James and Maude (Dott) Davis was born September 25, 1946. Mr. Davis was retired from the Bay City Police Department and Handy High School. He was an active bowler for 38 years and was the coach for Bay City Central High School.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 33 years the former Clara L. Gipson (Berry); four children, Matasa Davis, Vincent (Babette) Berry, Vichelle (Kenneth) Breedlove and Santez Shephard; five grandchildren, Cherae, Kristopher, Keyajah, Ebony and Kenny Jr.; three great grandchildren; one Godchild, Geneva Gilbert; three brothers, James Davis Jr. and Rev. John H. (Marie) Davis; three sisters, Mary Steelle, Rachel Davis and Clarissa Davis; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Dale Johnson, Mel and Cheryl Beyette, Dick Kirkhoffer, Diane Brubaker and family, Kay and Jim Wagner and family and a host of others. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister, Renita Davis and his sister-in-law, Helen Davis.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Grace Church - West Campus. Officiating will be Rev. Eric Kieb with Committal following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a time of sharing at 6:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for Grace Church - West Campus or the wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
