Clara Leona (Stanley) Ryers

Clara passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 86 years. The daughter of the late James and Helen (Dubay) Stanley was born March 13, 1928 in Bay City. Clara enjoyed being with her family cooking big dinners, shopping, camping, vacation trips, going to tractor pulls, go-kart races and car races. You would say a trip and she said she would get her suitcase! Clara attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for many years and was a current member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish. Clara is survived by four children: Bob (Jenny) Ryers of Elwell, MI, Tom (Norma) Ryers of Riverdale, MI, Randy (Jolene McCure) Ryers of Pinconning, MI, Joann (Rick Sarnowski) Sayen of Bay City, MI, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving Clara is one sister; Dorothy Greene, one brother; Richard (Cathy) Stanley, two sisters-in-law; Luella and Gail Stanley all of Bay City. Preceding Clara in death besides her parents was; "Baby Larry Ryers" and her husband; Lawrence Ryers, in addition to were two brothers; Edward and Ronald Stanley, one sister; Betty Becker, one brother-in-law; Ronald Becker, one sister-in-law; Geri Stanley and one daughter-in-law; Wanda Ryers. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday, July 7, 2014 at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish 6124 Pine Rd., Essexville, MI 48732. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Dale A. Orlik with the Rite of Committal following in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clara will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
