Clare T. Phillips Bay City, Michigan Mr. Clare T. Phillips, of Bay City, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, March 18, 2016 at Brittany Manor of Midland, age 83. The son of the late Stanley and Nellie (Gifford) Phillips, he was born on October 8, 1932 in Laporte, MI. Clare graduated from Tawas City High School. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was currently a member of the V.F.W. Kawkawlin / Linwood Post #6950. Clare retired from Dow Chemical Co., where he worked in the powerhouse. He was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church. In his spare time, Clare enjoyed fishing and was an avid deer hunter. On August 4, 1951 Clare married the former Dorothy E. Horen and she survives his passing along with their two children, Tim (Sue) Phillips and Shari (Steven) Morse; four grandchildren, Heidi (Dave) Reil, Brian (Amy) Phillips, Kris (Kellie) Mosher and Tiffany Mosher; eight great-grandchildren, Nicole Phillips, Allie Reil, Kayla Phillips, Brenden Phillips, Andrew Phillips, Brooklynn Mosher, Connor Mosher and Nolan Dinsmore; a sister-in-law, Bobbie Fetter; and a brother-in-law, Chuck Horen. It was Mr. Phillips desire for cremation to take place. A Memorial Service will take place Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alban's Episcopal Church. Officiating will be The Rev. Sharon L. Voelker. Inurnment will be in the St. Alban's Church Columbarium followed by Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Army and the Bay County Veterans Council. The family will greet friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
