Martin, Cloris William "Corky" of Bay City, Michigan passed away early Saturday morning June 2, 2012 at Brian's House at the age of 93. He was born July 25, 1918 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, retired from NEWCOR after thirty two years of service and served with the United States Army, 7th Army, 6th Corp in France, Germany and Austria during WWII. Corky enjoyed walking, reading and most of all spending time with his family. On October 4, 1947 he married the former Beverly Yahn and she survives his passing along with three daughters; Candace Martin of Bay City, Bethany Martin of Washington, DC and Jennifer Martin of Alexanderia, VA, one son and daughter-in-law; Randy and Rochelle Martin of Essexville, two grandchildren; Tristan and Cala Martin and Laura and Kevin Day, one brother and sister-in-law; Herb and Mary Martin of Bay City, two sisters; Rita Spychalski of Scottsdale, AZ and Barbara Tafelkski of Tawas, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents; Franklin and Frieda (Dreyer) Martin, six brothers; Atwood, Gerald, Gilbert, Richard, Selwyn and Walter and three sisters; Madaline, Iola and Rosella. Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew Schramm with interment following in Elm Lawn Park Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.. Mr. Martin will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for Westminster Presbyterian Church will be available at the funeral home. =
