Craig R. Bishop

Craig passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Midland, Michigan at the age of 36 years. Craig was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on July 28, 1981 to Michael and Claudia (Gentelia) Bishop. Craig was a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy serving for the past 17 years and a member of Peoples Baptist church. In his spare time he enjoyed building and constructing things and was an avid artist. Most of all he loved his family and children.
Craig is survived by his wife, Melissa; children, Samantha, Juliana and Alexander Bishop; father, Michael Buford Sr. (Cathie) Bishop; mother, Claudia Bishop; twin brother, Jamie Matthew (Amanda Brewer) Bishop; sister, Karla Dawn (Ryan) Cook; brother, Michael Buford Jr. (Amber Birnbaum) Bishop; brother, William Joseph (Heather) Bishop and sister, Brooke Ann (Robert Adams) Bishop; grandfather, Robert Bishop; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral and committal service will take place on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Peoples Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel Hester with military honors following. Friends may visit with the family at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Craig will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
