Craig Curtis Miles, age 72 of Midland, Michigan, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, due to injuries sustained in a single car accident. He was born on May 5, 1951, in Bay City, Michigan to the late Ruth and Wallace Miles. Craig met the love of his life, Linda Olszowy at Bay City Central and the two were united in marriage on September 9, 1972, in Auburn, Michigan. After pursuing higher education at Delta Community College, Craig became a certified automotive mechanic. Although he enjoyed working on cars, he transitioned to Trilon lab testing facility. After many years of service at Trilon, he spent the rest of his working career at Morbark. He worked in welding and fabrication on industrial scale forestry equipment. Craig retired from Morbark in 2013 to spend more time with family, friends, and enjoying his pastimes. In addition to spending more time with his wife, he also found great joy assisting the Caregiving Network in acquiring home essentials for families in need.
Craig enjoyed playing slow-pitch softball, going for walks, hunting, playing cards, as well as cooking and perfecting the best spaghetti sauce ever. He also enjoyed watching Jeopardy, rebuilding and racing cars at the Edmore raceway, in addition to enjoying a good breakfast with friends.
As a father, Craig was a strong provider who always ensured his family had what they needed. Some of his children’s favorite memories include going fishing, breakfast for dinner, homemade pizza, Sunday picnics at Grandma and Grandpa Miles’ house, working on the race cars, and going to the races.
Craig is survived by his wife, Linda, and four children, John (Heather) Miles, Michelle (Adam) Dudycha, Lisa (Steve) Schuman, Kristen Miles; four grandchildren, Hayden and Logan Miles, Porter and Seely Dudycha, sister Diana Owens, brothers-in law Ron Olszowy, Ken (Lorraine) Olszowy, Kevin Olszowy, and Ray Olszowy, sisters-in-law Carol (Randy) Goodwin, Janine Olszowy, Sylvia Olszowy as well as several nieces.
