Dale G. Hanover

Dale G. Hanover Kawkawlin, Michigan Mr. Hanover passed away early Wednesday morning July 6, 2011 at Brian's House with his family at his side. Age 72 years. He was born July 24, 1938 in Bay City, Michigan and has resided in this area all of his life. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Dale retired from General Motors Powertrain as a EAP Substance Abuse Representative. He served with the United States Navy, enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking and most of all the time he spent with his grandchildren. Dale is survived by his wife of fifty two years the former Judy J. Sylvester whom he married on August 8, 1959 in St. Anne Catholic Church in Linwood. He is also survived by three children; Rick J. and Loraine M. Hanover of Bay City, Tracey A. and Ty R. McConkey of Kawkawlin and Jeff J. Hanover of Bay City, six cherished grandchildren; Jessica and Tyler Hanover, Sydney and Ashton McConkey and Drew and Eric Hanover, his twin brother; Gale and Barbara Hanover, two sisters; Marilyn and Ronald Collier and Carol and Jerome Schmolitz, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Judy Hanover, Ken Shook, Marlene and Robert McCoy and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Clarence and Elsie Hanover one brother; Melvin Hanover, his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Hercules and Dorothy Sylvester, his in-laws; Audrey Shook and Ken and Leola Sylvester. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Jerzy Dobosz with the Rite of Committal following in Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Hanover will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of the Mass.
